Found La Oaxaquena thanks to a mention of it in St Louis magazine and I am so happy with the find. This is a hidden gem and I will say the best Mexican food I have found in St Louis. The salsa, guacamole, tacos and Choripollo that we ordered were delicious. I loved that they had many authentic dishes with mole. Since I loved our dishes so much, I want to come back to keep trying various things in the menu that sounded great. I highly recommend this place!

Very colorful place. The service is great, the chips are not real thin, and the salsa is good. We also ordered Oaxaca Dip. I have no idea what that is but it is good.. Monica had a cheese enchilada and one with mole sauce, which was great!!! It also came with a chicken chimichanga that did not disappoint. The beans and rice were also very good I had carne asada street tacos. They were good but did not have as much seasoning as I would have liked. Overall I could see this as our go to Mexican joint, though we have just moved down this way and have a few others to try out.

I placed an order from DoorDash and accidentally placed it twice. They called me to double check on that immediately (which was the start of our excellent customer service). The FOOD!!!! It was amazing! The taquitos, salsa, tamales and (something new to us) tlayuda were fantastic! I have an onion allergy and they even wrote a note about how the food was cooked on the box. 12/10!!!

Cheeky lunch margarita and picaditos made for a very solid first visit. Perfect service, great value on the food, and it’s nice to try a delicious dish I’ve never had before. Ultimate strip mall vibes.

Excellent, authentic Mexican dishes, with a surprising number of options. Tried enchiladas, street tacos, and the best quesadilla I've ever had! Generous margaritas, Mexican and domestic beers on tap, and fast, attentive service. I'll definitely be back.

Great little Mexican restaurant in the south county, I had four enchiladas, two chicken, and two with oaxaca cheese, all smothered in mole sauce, which was very delicious. My dinner friends tonight enjoyed tacos made from grilled chicken and chicken tamales. The meals was all excellent. The margaritas had good strength without becoming overpowering. Excellent meal and welcoming staff make me want to go back for seconds.

This was my wife and I first visit to the establishment and I have to say I was very impressed. Very family oriented and the food and pricing was great. Only thing I didn’t like was the tamale I ordered. I’ve never had a flat tamale nor have I ever had it wrapped in sea weed paper. The staff was very attentive, polite and professional I would definitely recommend giving it a try and I will be back
